Word of Encouragement: How to Get Unstuck From Your Past By the Words that You Speak

To encourage and lead others to get unstuck, you must get unstuck first! Getting unstuck from the past starts with tilling your “soil” and uprooting the damaged and diseased roots that have not produced good fruits.

We know we have damaged and diseased roots if we live and operate in anger, bitterness, jealousy, offense, anxiety/worry, fear, and unforgiveness.

After beginning the work of tilling your soil, began to replace the dead roots (what’s not producing good fruit in your life) with new “seeds” of life and abundance.

There is power of life and death in the tongue and those who love it will eat of its fruit. Proverbs 18:21

Your words are like “seeds” that are planted in soil that eventually produce a crop. What type of crop you get, damaged or healthy depends on what you have spoken with your words.

Words are containers of power that create action!

Words do matter!

We tame our tongues by paying attention to what is in our hearts.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10

Spending quiet time with God and meditating on His Word is the best way to keep your heart clean so that you are not speaking words of anger, hatred, bitterness, jealousy, and offense.

Having a pure heart produces good “seeds” in your thoughts that will produce the right words that you speak.

What are you speaking over your life? Do you want to get unstuck from your past but get defeated every time by the words that you speak?

What you believe (what’s in your heart) will affect what you think about and what you speak out. Do you need to clean up your heart? Repentance and asking God to create in you a clean heart opens the way to thinking and speaking better. You may need to do this daily. Give yourself a “heart” check every day, and ask “What fruit am I producing?” Check your fruit with the fruit of the Spirit.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, kindness, meekness, gentleness, humbleness, faithfulness, joy, peace, goodness, and self-control.

Having a pure heart will keep you from speaking words that are not wholesome, or encouraging, and that do not bring life.

Do you want to get unstuck from your past? Check your heart and rid yourself of what defiles your heart.

Every day we need to guard our hearts and deal with what may be causing us to feel “heart-sick.”

Above all else guard your hearts, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23
