Stephanie R. Reck, LMSW, LBT, BCCC
Stephanie has a heart and a passion to serve broken women, and to see them brought to complete wholeness through Jesus Christ. In addition to Stephanie’s education and work-related experiences, she has personally experienced the devastation of many stressful life situations. Stephanie knows first-hand the reality of pain and deep sorrow. She has endured much heartache in her life including abuse, teen pregnancy, addiction, and a prodigal child. Stephanie received salvation when she was 24 years old, after reading Joyce Meyer’s book, “Beauty for Ashes.” Stephanie has a heart and compassion for the lost, the broken, the abused, and loves to build the Body of Christ with encouragement. She desires that all will experience the love of Christ, and know who they are in Christ.
Stephanie has been married for 19 years, and has one grown son. Stephanie has served as a Celebrate Recovery director and group leader, women’s Bible study teacher, and speaker at women’s ministry events. Stephanie has worked and volunteered at a crisis pregnancy center where she served as Client Services Coordinator and Crisis counselor. She has also served with three homeless shelters on the MS Gulf Coast, and also a women’s addiction recovery program. Prior to her starting to write full-time and author her first book in April 2014, “Wilderness mentality, stop your stinkin’ thinkin,” she operated Hope Counseling Center, LLC. Stephanie has worked at several mental health clinics and has over 16 years’ experience in counseling.
Stephanie has a Bachelor degree in Psychology, is a Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Belief Therapist, Board Certified Christian Counselor, and a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Stephanie studied aboard in Beijing, China the summer of 1996 during her undergraduate studies. Stephanie has had extensive training in Christian Co-dependency, and holds a certification to teach Co-dependency classes. She is a member of the Association of Christian Counselors and the Online Association of Mental Health Counselors.
Stephanie is the founder of Hope and Encouragement for Women, an online ministry for women offering virtual counseling in the convenience of your home or office. She has published work for God Works Magazine, Stepping Stones Magazine, Encounter Gospel News, Christian Weekly Digest, Our Town Magazine and Faith Food. Stephanie just released her second book, “Disciplining your mind, 30 days to a better you,” with eLectico Publishing.
Stephanie has overcome many obstacles in her life, and uses her testimony to bring hope and encouragement.
